Cover Art!

Dudes! Behold my cover art!

I’m actually really pleased with how this turned out. It’s a hard story to pitch with just a little itty bitty picture, but the art department found something that’s really true to the story: a picture of the heroine. She looks a leeeetle smidge too… uh… enthusiastic, we’ll say, but that’s knit-picky and she looks really just like the character looked in my head, so I’m pleased.

And plus, did I mention?– I have a cover!!

(Click the picture to read an excerpt. I’ll give you a publication date as soon as I have one!)

(Ahem– See my slightly more tongue-in-cheek commentary on my cover art over at So 5.)

New Stuff– Yay!

Look, ever’body! I have new stuff! (If you’re reading this in syndication on Facebook or MySpace or LiveJournal or wherever, you’re actually going to have to click the link to my blog to see all the cool stuff.)

Right up top there you’ll see my new banner for my story coming out at The Wild Rose Press! Yay! It’s been sent to production, so the pub date cometh! This is me, hopping up and down, waiting very impatiently for my cover art and publication date.

To the right, you’ll see a list of upcoming e-appearances, which seems only fitting since I’m now an eBook author. So if you want to chat with me and a whole bunch of other eBook authors, check out the events and drop on by. They’re all free and open to the public. Some of them involve prizes, and we all love prizes.

I’ve added some snappy new blogs over there on the sidebar as well. You’ll see the most recent blogs from my fellow Wild Rose Press authors (and if you are a WRP author and don’t see your recent post up there, email me and make sure I’m subscribed to you). You’ll also see some recent blogs that I liked for various reasons, most of them because they made me laugh so hard I snorted.

Not new but still cool:

All my other blogosphere places. Don’t forget to check out Promo Ho, my newest obsession. (I bought the domain name and everything, people. This is serious.)

Sonja Recommends- Buy stuff from Amazon, and if you click through from my blog, I’ll love you extra special because I get a teeny tiny kickback. Yay!

Stay tuned because:

I have an actual monetary-ish prize to give away on Friday. I know you can’t wait, you little prize-mongers.

TTZ and American I-dull

Romeo: Yay, I got my ham radio callsign! KI4TTZ

Sonja: Neat.

Romeo: haha if i say it fast it sounds like “titties”

Sonja: creep

Romeo: wish i could get MAN4TTZ. but it doesn’t work that way

It’s just a really good thing he doesn’t write romance novels.

Here’s how we should narrow down the pool on American Idol so we don’t have to listen to crap performances every week until they successfully eliminate the suckage: Send all the white girls and all the bald guys home. That makes a pretty big dent in the talent (or lack thereof). Is it just me, or was last year sooooo much better?

Of Books and… Bras?

I think I need a break.

I dreamed last night that I was at my first booksigning. Except you know what happens when an eBook author does a booksigning? Nothing. Why? Because there is nothing to sign. So I’m not quite sure what was going on with that.

But at least it wasn’t all for naught, because in addition to not signing non-existent books at my booksigning, I was also selling bras.

Yes. Bras.

I have nothing against bras. In fact, I’m generally in favor of bras. However, I have never sold bras and never do I plan to sell bras. Especially at a non-existent booksigning.

Whatever.

Here’s your American Idol update, in case you didn’t get to watch it last night: Blah. That is all. Oh wait, one more thing: Ryan and Simon just need to explore their feelings for each other and get it over with so we don’t have to listen to them bicker on the show to cover their ever-growing lust for each other. There. That is all. For real this time.

Proud To Be A Promo Ho

I spent hours upon hours this weekend finishing my revisions for Love In Shadow. I really like how they turned out and I’m glad my editor suggested all those things. Editors are really useful people, ya know? And can I just say “my editor” one more time please? Because I really like the ring of that.

Anyway, I also spent hours upon hours this weekend researching self-promotion for my new eBook (coming soon from The Wild Rose Press, nudge nudge). At midnight, I had a crazy epiphany. Usually, I don’t trust crazy midnight epiphanies because, um, they’re crazy and it’s midnight, and they usually turn out to be stupid in the morning light. But I was so punch-drunk on web surfing between loads of laundry, I went ahead and set up the blog.

Lo and behold, this morning when I woke up, the idea hadn’t gotten stupider. Imagine that. I mean, really, if I’m going to spend all that time researching how to promote my eBook, why wouldn’t I put it online? There are about a billion eBook authors out there (I’m totally not kidding) and I’m sure some of them want to know this stuff.

So today, I’m unveiling Promo Ho. It’s scant on the articles just yet, but the quality is there, I think, and I’m going to be posting pretty much everything I find. I’ve seriously got a list of like 50 sites that review eBooks, just for starters. So check it out and let me know what you think. Oh and feel free to steal my little graphic and use it to advertise. Cute, ain’t it?
