Hello, New Coworkers!

To all my new coworkers who came by way of sonjafoust.com, HI! I’m looking forward to meeting you, and I hope you’ll give me your blog links too so that you won’t know everything about me without me knowing at least a little something about you. Fair’s fair, after all.

It’s weird how I never even considered my new employer would look at my website when I got my first job out of college (even though I did have a website way back then… in 2003), but now I kind of expect everyone to know everything about me before I meet them in person. Heh. I’ve gotten over the weirdness factor, mostly, so if you ask me about something you read on my blog, I promise not to stare blankly at you for too long.

Anything else you want to know about me? Ask away. I don’t promise to answer, but I do promise to at least read the question.

Can’t wait to meet all of you in person on Monday!

Hey, I work with http://www.mochaclub.org, a non-profit that works in Africa. I saw that you were on the NaBloPoMo list, and we’d love for you to blog about our new campaign on Nov. 24th. The campaign is centered around this idea – at Mocha Club, we have always cared about building an accurate perception of both the challenges that Africans face, and the BEAUTY of Africa. We need bloggers to help get the word out. Please email our director at barrett[at]mochaclub[dot]org if you would be interested in hearing the details!

Co-Workers? I am confused… the other site is your writing one and this is your blog?

Anyway, I guess you may remember I came here from NaNo. Speaking of which your word count is a bit disturbing. Over the half way mark and you have just 11K words, and yet at the same time you wrote them in ONE day! Is that genuine? I’d be exhausted by that and not sure I could even make it.

Are you going to put on a spurt like that in the last few days and still complete Nano? Or is it taking a back seat to real life and you may not do it this year?

We’ll see how it goes. NaNo is tough when you’re dealing with a new job. :) I had to do it two years ago, and didn’t finish. So, again, we’ll see how it goes.
